Holy f*ck, what a week.

Happy Sunday. The scaries can't have you today.
I'm Aaron. I plan trips and talk people off the spiral, from Milwaukee. This list is about twenty people so far, which makes it less of a newsletter and more of a group text with better fonts. Every Sunday at 11:11 I tell you what I'm up to, what's new on the site, and what the week looks like. Nothing here is a sales pitch. Two minutes, tops.
Oops. The Furnace Almanac doesn't do linear time, and this week it turned the clock ahead instead of falling back. Your first issue is late. The guide is on time.
Milwaukee is going to the World Series.

Say it out loud. I'm still not over it. So I wrote you a guide: Visiting MKE for the World Series, Field Guide No. 03. Where to stay, where to eat, where to hide from the crowds, and what to do if you don't have a ticket. Game 1 is this Friday.
Things are changing around here almost daily. The best way to keep up is to sign up for Sunday Briefs.
Tomorrow: Amnicon Falls.

I'm walking every Wisconsin state park, A to Z, one a week. Park Pick drops Mondays at 9:11. First up is Amnicon Falls, with photos, a video, and a candy shop detour. It already has its own page.

The Furnace Almanac · Your week ahead

- Friday, October 23: Game 1. Forecast: loud, hopeful, and slightly sticky. Wear layers and bring a friend who knows the bathroom situation.
- Saturday, October 24: Mercury goes retrograde and stays that way until November 13. That email you've been avoiding will still be there, but it will also be misspelled. Reread before you send. Do not text your ex.
- Saturday, October 31: Halloween. Brady Street will be Brady Street.
- Sunday, November 1: the clocks fall back. You get an extra hour. Spend it on purpose, or don't.
Lucky move this week: text one person you've been meaning to text for a month. Nothing fancy. Just "hey, I thought of you."
Furnace tip of the week: name the spiral, then do one physical thing. Say the worst case out loud, then take the next small action: shower, mailbox, text one person. The spiral runs on thinking. Your hands can interrupt it.
This forecast is not legal, medical or astronomical advice.
Lore drop

After the divorce I spent two years looking for a village. Then I figured out I'm the mayor. Population: a lot of you, and growing.
I put a lot more of me on the internet.
I'm 44. I stopped sanding myself down, and the site now has a page for all of it: This Is My Art. Some of it is PG-13, and anything spicier is labeled and sits behind a tap on the site.
This is the one. It's the whole thesis: I'm taking all of me back, on my terms, with the frame in my own hands. See This Is My Art
What to do next
- Reply by email: aaron@dopaminefurnace.org. I write back myself.
- Pass it along: send a friend.
- If your brain is a browser with forty tabs, that's what I do for a living. A Burn Session starts at $77, and a Journey is a trip planned for you. No pressure.
- Typeset Rangers is my small circle of people who like to make, write and notice things. Say hi, and say if you're up for coffee: Let's Fika, downtown Milwaukee or on video.
- Follow Furnace Creative on Instagram for the daily sparks.
With love,
Aaron
